I object in the strongest possible terms to the merger of Sinclair Broadcasting and Tribune Media. The result of this merger would be that Sinclair dominates local broadcasting, reaching over 70% of homes. The only reason this is even legally possible is an archaic law that declares UHF to count for only half of its actual impact. Allowing such a merger would violate the spirit of the law, especially since Sinclair is well known for having a strong, consistent political slant to its reporting.
