Hello, I'd like to comment on the rollout of broadband subsidies through the Lifeline program. For me, and many others, the internet is the great equalizer. It allows for an unimaginable scale of knowledge at your very home. For the determined, anyone with access has the ability to grow themselves and better their life in ways unmatched. The internet has allowed me to learn and provide for my family. In this modern day and age, broadband subsidies are much more of a relevant and socially usable benefit than basic telephone services. The current usage pattern of basic telephone services has dropped to the point of where no one uses them. I would like to argue that the new base line should be the internet. Children and their families are more likely to communicate through the internet, than through basic phone services. Phone services are also available through VOIP. Lifeline broadband subsidies take place of what once was the purpose of the phone subsidies. It is the logical replacement. I hope you take this comment into consideration on whether or not to continue the hold-up of the broadband subsidy rollout. Thank you.
