After reading the entire RFPM I am in favor of and would urge the FCC to grant this proposal. I have read many of the comments already filed with the commission. I have read or heard these all in the past predicting doom and gloom with any change that is proposed to the amateur service. We heard these same fears with the Volunteer Examiner program, No-Code and many others too numerous to list. All their past predictions were wrong, just as they are wrong about this new license class. I believe the Tyro license will be one of the best things to happen to amateur radio since single-band (which was also denounced). It will give small, community-based charitable organizations to easily prepare for and assist in emergencies as well as helping to give an introduction into the world of communications science to those that would like to move forward. Again, I am in favor of the Tyro license and urge the commission to move this on to the rulemaking process as soon as possible.
