I am in favor of the proposed enhancements to the Technician Class amateur radio license as proposed by the American Radio Relay League in RM-11828.  I have been an active amateur radio operator for 59 years and believe that the proposed expansion of operating privileges for Technician licensees will provide additional incentive for interested persons to obtain a license and will provide a source of operators willing to perform a public service by providing communications for public special events and in times of emergencies or disasters.
