I endorse RM-11831. Open, decodable communication has been hallmark of the amateur radio service since its inception. It is essential that this transparency be maintained. Attempts to hijack the amateur bands to bypass commercial providers of identical technological solutions should be prevented. Additionally, permitting encrypted communications on the amateur bands opens the door to exploitation by hostile actors with the exception of remote login to administer a system. Given the economic and national security implications, I support this filing.
