I sent this comment to Rockstar games, the operators of Grand Theft Auto 5. They have failed to address online harassment, because this harassment helps boost their profits. Namely, players are able to harass others by destroying valuable possessions, or "cargo", which takes several real-life hours to accumulate. This harassment is "griefing". This then pressures them to buy "shark cards" or spending real-life money to get more in-game money. There is an in-game reporting feature to complain about players griefing, but it is ineffective as Rockstar games do not discipline players for doing this; in fact they are rewarded in-game. Online harassment and bullying are real problems, and some game makers need to be reminded of that. I have considered suing Rockstar, but that would be costly and difficult. Regulation regarding online harassment would be more logical. My message follows: On the PSN network, "acdaly" is the latest griefer I've come across. He destroyed my cargo; I reported him, but these reports don't do anything. You need to take these reports seriously, because you clearly don't. You are interested in shark cards rather than keeping the game "fair and fun for all". I feel the need to also report to the FCC and consider other legal action because you are encouraging/ profiting from online harassment.
