To whom it may concern, I'm an undergraduate student at the University of Texas currently in the process of applying for graduate school. Without the resources available to me on an open an free internet, I would without a doubt have never returned to school to complete my education. In a world without net neutrality free services such as Khan's Academy, MIT Opencourse, and other educational services would have to compete against large corporations for bandwidth. How then would these pioneers of public education be able to reach the citizens of the world? America's innovations and democratic choices are mirrored through many developing nations, what signal are we sending when we give preferential treatment to the well funded agencies that would feed us tailored advertisements and mediocre programming? While this technology lends itself nicely to analogies of roads or tubes, these analogies don't accurately describe the reality of the technology and its potential. I pray that the fine government servants responsible for making this decision reflect deeply upon the future of the internet and society as a whole. A vote against net neutrality is a vote against entrepreneurs, students, artists, small business, and democracy. Regards, Michael Toney
