To whom it may concern: As a young computer engineer the internet is integral to my daily life. Sifting through operating systems, assembly language, and legacy code is not without its challenges. Many of those challenges can only be solved through the collaboration of the world's engineers and technologists. This means forums, Stack Exchange, and the occasional ancient pdf sitting on a file server thousands of miles away. Net neutrality forces the internet to remain a free and open marketplace of ideas, the very foundation of all human achievments. Most cities have a public library, where anyone has the opportunity to learn and better themselves. The internet has taken that concept and given it to every person on the planet. Giving the "keys" to something this important to huge coporations, whose main interest is increasing profits for shareholders, will do nothing but harm the majority on a global scale. This country was founded on the freedom of ideas and the beauty of a free and open marketplace. Giving more power to ISPs will hurt everyone but ISPs. Most people are already unhappy with the service provided by these companies and most people wish they had more options in there area. Do not allow greedy companies to further take advantage of the people. Do not allow ISPs to control the flow of human thought, free speech, and self-expression. I leave you with a quote from one of our founding fathers: "Without Freedom of thought there can be no such thing as wisdom;and no such thing as public liberty, without freedom of speech." -Benjamin Franklin Sincerly, Stephen St. Michael
