Speaking from a Canadian perspective, I'm disappointed by the rhetoric from US Cable, Telco, and Internet Service Providers, who seek their own freedom from regulation at great cost to US citizens and small businesses who are the greatest innovators.   Regulation, when applied correctly, represents the will of the people and counters excessive concentration of power in some US corporations, and allows future American innovation in ways completely unexpected.
