"Net Neutrality" is important to me, as access to the internet, especially broadband internet, is no longer a choice in the modern world. Certainly, there are some that can go without, but for the vast majority of individuals, internet access is vital to everyday functions, be they work, leisure, or otherwise. High speed internet is no longer an amenity, but rather a utility, and should be treated as such. While I can understand the sentiment behind reducing regulation, and there are no guarantees that ISPs will abuse the freedom from regulation, many, if not most people do not have a realistic choice in their internet provider, and in markets where this is the case, it makes little to no sense to allow effective monopolies to exist without some sort of oversight. I strongly urge the FCC to reconsider the choice to remove Net Neutrality provisions, as it sets a dangerous precedent and encourages ISPs to act in negative monopolistic fashions, with no recourse for consumers.
