I am very concerned about the potential repeal of network neutrality. If my ISP can control the content I expect unlimited/unaltered access to, the Internet as a whole will become so much less useful it will drastically change my lifestyle for the worse. I organize and run local events centered around a large variety of online games. The success of these events and the community they bring together is bound to the freedom of access to fansites, 3rd party websites with related content and of course the official game owner's website. Aside from this, unrestricted Internet access thusfar has been the single greatest teacher and source of long-term life improvement for me via coding resources, cooking advice, home improvement ideas, and much more. The possibility of my lifestyle choices being regulated by the restriction of my access to free information is, frankly, disgusting. I have looked into the possiblity of making an easy change to another ISP if my current one decides to regulate my access to the Internet. My current residence allows for exactly ONE provider. I would need to make drastic and very permanent lifestyle changes to keep a steady pace of self-improvement. This life-changing self-improvement is currently available at a price within my low-income budget. Not being able to afford such a vast resource as the Internet would be just as devastating as fully moderated access.
