As a small business owner, I rely almost entirely on the Internet for the success of my business. I use it for advertising, communcating with my clients, and nearly every aspect of my daily operations. Without the basic principles of net neutrality, I fear my company would no longer be able to function. If a service provider was allowed to discriminate against my company's website and restrict its bandwidth, I would certainly lose customers. Without net neutrality, it seems almost inevitable that service providers will prioritize traffic based on either a site's popularity or the premium price a site's owner pays. The popularity and/or funds that would be necessary to be prioritized as such are things that many of my fellow entrepreneurs and I simply do not have. Put flatly, the Internet without the principle of net neutrality would stiffle innovation and kill American businesses. The Internet is not just an information service; it is a utility of extreme importance to the American economy. I urge the FCC to continue treating it as a utility and I strongly oppose the reversal of net neutrality protections.
