July 17, 2017 Dear FCC Commissioners, I am writing to express my strong support for net neutrality and my strong opposition to proposal 17-108. My internet service provider (Comcast) is a near monopoly in my area, so their behavior is not governed by laissez-faire economics. In this case, the FCC has the ability and responsibility to regulate the market for the public good. Simply throwing internet bandwidth to the highest bidder for the sake of free markets ignores the fact that ISP's operate as monopolies over a resource of critical importance, similar to providers of power, telephone services, sewage processing, and water. Please don't make my internet slow, and please don't make me--a paying ISP customer--live at the mercy of corporate content providers who dictate what information is readily accessible.
