Reducing the minimum acceptable internect connection speeds is a step backward for techonology and support for the U.S. populace.  It would only benefit the telecommunication corporation shareholders, which are a small minority of the U.S. populace.  The very small number of major telecommunications corporations have a defacto monopoly on our internet and allowing this reduction in connection speeds will only increase the control they have over our internet freedom.
