I'm writing in support of net neutrality, and against this horrible and deceptively titled proceeding. This act favors large telecom corporations. It will not help consumers in the slightest. Verizon, comcast, and all of the companis that want to destroy net neutrality are not looking out for consumers. Net neutrality does not inhibit their ability to develop new technologies as they claim. Net neutrality is one of the greatest benifits that has ever been seen concerning technology. Taking it away will allow telecom companies to control how fast you connect, and what you connect to, on the internet. For example, one of the most likely outcomes is that comcast could easily throttle connection speeds to netflix, and they could allow full or even greater speeds to their own streaming services, thus taking away an even playing field by deteriorating the services netflix or any other online service has to offer. A sidenote that is very relevant to why we have to defend net neutrality: Ajit Pai is the epitome of the political concept of "the swamp". FCC Chairman Ajit Pai, who was a Verizon lawyer from 2001 to 2003, released a draft proposal to overturn net neutrality rules in April. In making the case that the current net neutrality rules aren't needed, the proposal said that "no formal complaints have been filed under them." But that wasn't true, and the next version of Pai's anti-net neutrality proposal corrected the mistake, saying that "only one formal complaint has been filed under them to date." Ajit Pai is an underhanded piece of scum with little to no sense of honesty or morality. Also, he should be removed from his position. Go figure that the only formal complaint is one against his former company. Go figure he has avoided actually dealing with said complaint.
