As a consumer, I depend on my ISP to provide me equal access to whatever services I wish. Anything else smacks of Big Brother (either corporate or government, it's all the same in effect) trying to impose its will on me. Under many circumstances we do not have a free market choice of ISPs, such as rural areas or large apartment buildings. That's just the reality of the situation. Yes, Internet Service Providers SHOULD be regulated as Common Carriers, because local monopolies are simply reality. The openness of the Internet is what gives it strength - please do not wound it!
