Before the Internet, there were various commericial information networks available to the public: CompuServe, GEnie, AOL (pre-Internet) being the most popular. These networks were similar to what you're proposing -- content was carried at the discression of the network, which generally meant that some business deal was arrived at. These networks were useless. They made innovation impossible because of this barrier. The open Internet slaughted them. I believe you know this, and this is your intended goal. I believe you don't care if the US is pushed into digital darkages where innovation happens elsewhere, and all discouse on the 'net is Disneyified. I believe you don't care if you piss off virtually every American. The kickbacks you got from AT&T, Verizon, and Comcast for their priviledge of monopolizing communication mean more to you than anything that could possibile happen in the future. I beleive you are completely corrupt and the opposite of what a public servant should be. I say this as a person on a small team that built one of the most popular online games, who helped bring a product to market an entire trade show celebrated, and who was an addition to the team that created the first Internet hypertext system. Not only are your priorities misplaced, your values are. You are prepared to inflict an enormous amount of damage and do not care.
