Net Neutrality needs to upheld as it is these rules that keep the power that the internet provides in the hands of those that uphold that which we preach is American: Freedom. To change the rules by which the companies that provide the content abide would breed the mentality that it is in the best interest to abuse the lax rules. Not only is it possible for major companies like Verizon Wireless to abuse this it is a certainty as such examples have happened before with T-mobile blocking users from programs like google wallet to push their own version. Tactics like this are why giving such power and leniency to those who already have a vast amount of power both in and outside the government is a recipe for disaster aimed at those who must use means such as this to have their voice heard. The very fact that this sort of response could be restricted or blocked simply because one person in a company thinks that it might inconvenience their wallet and that they have the means to do something about it is frightening. This means we would have to trust a multi-million dollar company to have the moral sense to let people seek out their competition. A fact that has already been proven time and time again will simply never work. Net Neutrality must be upheld else we prepare to have companies dictate more than just what content we watch.
