Lowing the Standard to 10 Mbps downstream / 1 Mbps upstream is ridiculous. I don't see how this could solve any issue besides the internet companies will be able to say they are giving you "High-Speed" when they are really not. 10 Mbps would be fine if just a single person, but for most people that is not the case. me and my Girlfriend are currently using our internet services for gaming and video streaming. If our internet were to lower to 10 down / up, neither of would be able to play a game while the other wants to watch netflix or hulu. If we were to at least just have the standard right now (25down/3up), that would be perfectly fine for us. We should want to move forward with broadband connection not backwards. Please dont lower the standard. This will just Companies and excuse to charge the same price but for a lower bandwidth. This wont be helping the competition, it would just hurt the people using the service.
