Please do not weaken Net Neutrality in any way. Enabling ISPs to influence or control access to content undermines healthy competition among content providers, jeapordizes First Amendment rights, and is contrary to the best interests of the American people. Human persons are more important than corporations. Our founding fathers may not have anticipated the emergence of multi-national corporations with more power than the American people, but there can be little doubt where their sympathies would have fallen. The FCC has done so much good with programs such as E-Rate; please do not destroy this good work by taking away the most important public utility in our history. When we call a friend on the telephone, we do not expect to be charged different amounts if they have a different phone carrier, nor to be blocked if our own phone company doesn't happen to like them, nor to have the content of our conversations monitored or censored by a giant corporation. The Internet is the most powerful force for equalization of knowledge that has ever emerged. It is incumbent on the FCC to protect that. Don't go down in history as the government agency that, while charged with protecting the public interest, sold it out to the Comcasts and Time-Warners of the world. We have already seen how much they care about the best interests of consumers, in their approach to customer support.
