To whom it may concern, We are in support of Net Neutrality. Repealing Net Neutrality is just a way to give the few large ISPs more control over what is able to be accessed through the internet. I am already paying 50$ a month for internet at much slower upload and download speeds than what is technologically available with no options to upgrade. When there is an ISP monopoly or duopoly that won't allow other ISPs to compete (ie city proposed and controlled ISPs) then what reason do theses gatekeepers of the internet have to offer a better product? There needs to be competition for ISPs and removing Net Neutrality will not bring that. Instead this will be giving ISPs control over what content I will be able to access over the internet. Currently I use Netflix, play online games, read the news, and talk to family through use of the internet. Without Net Neutrality, what's preventing ISPs from charging me to buy a separate internet "package" for each way that I use the internet? So I could be paying my mandatory 50$ a month, and then need to pay an extra 10$ to talk with family, 10$ to stream movies and TV, 10$ to play games (on top of whatever online service I pay for the games themselves), and 10$ for news access. This is just getting out of hand. And what if I want to use something on the internet that falls outside of my plan? Maybe overages? Being charged for the service? Or slow speeds for access that content that would dissuade me from using whatever part of the internet that was. Does streaming content vs reading the news on the internet cause the ISPs to run more maintenance on their lines? (The answer is no, it uses more bandwidth, but doesn't exceed what I'm already purchasing from the ISP) The internet is as necessary in this age as electricity. We could survive without it, but why hurt the nation by removing us from the rest of the world? Unless we start treating electricity in this same fashion, the internet should be treated as a utility. Repealing Net Neutrality would be preventing that highschool or college kid, dad or mom, grandparent or whoever from creating the next big idea that could bring our people forward and better our nation. Once Net Neutrality is gone, if whatever new creators want to show the world falls out of the scope of people's internet plans, you're effectively making it that much harder for them to get visibility due to inaccessibility or slow speeds. I would argue that the "Restoring Internet Freedom" act would allow for such information oppression to happen and hurt our nation as a whole. Thank you for your time, Mr and Mrs Lewis
