24 November 2017 to: Federal Communications Commission re: docket 17-108 "Restoring Internet Freedom" Dear Sir: I am writing to implore you to NOT implement the course of action you are considering along the lines of the above docket. Internet access and service is in fact a utility that millions of Americans (as well as citizens of other countries of course) depend on in their everyday lives, including their working lives. I personally am an Information Technology services professional who, while working for a major communications company, depends on the accessibility, speed, and consistency of performance of my home internet service in order to perform my job providing support to the accounts for which my company holds me responsible. (specifically, I am a Production Support Database Administrator). There are many, many of us Americans who work remotely from home for corporate employers such as IBM Global Services, HP Enterprise, Dell Services, NTT Data, EDS, TCS, CSC, and many other corporate employers who rely on the consistent performance and accessibility of their employee's home internet services to fulfill their missions as engines driving the US economy. By regressing and enacting your proposed 'hands off' approach to regulating this vitally important utility, you will be failing millions of American IT workers and their employers, thereby crippling the effectiveness of those American companies and personnel who work in this critical industry. Again, please DO NOT implement your proposed approach to regulation contained in the above docket. This is way more important to our nation than whether its citizens can buy shoes online or stream music; This is vitally important to our national workforce's ability to do its job and to compete globally. Much more than you may realize is at stake. Thank you for listening. Sincerely, William D. Rupy PO Box 848 Antioch IL 60002-0848 bill.rupy@yahoo.com
