I am writing to you today for you to NOT repeal net neutrality. Regulations need to remain in order for all businesses and people to have an equal stance on the Internet. By repealing this you are setting up a system where large corporations can strangle smaller businesses' website traffic to avoid competition. In addition, repealing this will allow large businesses to squash 1st Amendment rights by suppressing and inhibiting negative opinions online, as well as slowing internet to their competitors' services.
The Internet is a democratic place, and the American people are able to exist on equal footing with each other there. By removing Net Neutrality protections, this is all at risk for the benefit of a few major corporations. They will not stand by promises to keep the Internet a fair and competitive place.
The Internet is the last bastion where people from all levels of society on a global scale have an equal playing field. Our free speech will immediately be negatively affected and we will end up being forced to pay more for an inferior product. You will be killing small business start-ups and limiting free speech.
Please help the millions of people in the US that don’t have a voice and don’t have the means to afford the looming prices you will be inflicting if you repeal net neutrality. Vote to keep net neutrality as it is.
