November 26, 2017 Dear FCC, I am writing to you today to urge you to NOT repeal net neutrality. Regulations need to remain in order for ALL businesses and people to have an equal stance at being noticed on the internet. By repealing this you are setting up a corrupt system, dismantling the First Amendment and protecting free speech only for those people who have enough money to buy access to the internet. The world already has SO much income inequality; the internet is unique as a tool for people from all levels of society, on a global scale, to have an equal playing field for expression and communication. By taking that away, you will have helped amass even more power and influence in the top 1% of Americans who, according to the Federal Reserve, control more than a third of the money in the United States (see: Federal Reserve Report, September 2017). Abandoning net neutrality means playing directly into the hands Š and enabling even more power Š for a group of Americans who already have exorbitant control. Net neutrality attempts to protect the freedom of speech for all. In repealing net neutrality, you strip away the power of true free speech from those without access to massive wealth. Each American becomes a customer forced to pay more for an inferior, censored product Š and the ripple effects will be felt around the world. You will be KILLING small business start-ups and the independent media. You will limit access to education for people of all income levels. You will be rewarding corporations that already have benefited disproportionately and greedily due to our governmentÕs unjust regulating skills and practices. In a free-market economy, it is the duty of the government to protect democracy and the voices of all. Please help the millions of people in the US who donÕt have a voice and donÕt have the means to afford the looming prices you will be inflicting if you repeal net neutrality. Vote to keep net neutrality as it is. Sincerely, Juliet Dana
