I support Net Neutrality and Title 2 oversight of ISPs. I wish to see the open internet maintained by government oversight rather than self-policed by the industry. Net Neutrality is a commitment to impartiality by the ISPs who have proven themselves willing to censor or throddle content and carve up internet access in the name of profit. The idea that it will breed competition is absurd given TimeWarner and Comcast have already largely avoided competing across the country; it has been a detriment of both service speed and customer service. A free internet is one on which I may freely dabble with any new service unhindered, not one which would charge me extra for access to content outside my normal pattern like exists in Portugal. Title II is the only encouragement they have for improving or laying new infustructure into more rural areas; which we ought to ensure is done. Expecting a company like Google to force their hand by threatening to enter the market is something that just won't happen outside of major cities. Rules to limit states or towns from protecting themselves from these behavior or creating a public option are equally distasteful.
