The FCC's plan to reverse net neutrality would be a great mistake for this country and must be stopped. This would negatively affect millions of Americans and positively affect only a select handful of already wealthy businessmen. Ending net neutrality would not reflect capitalism, it would reflect a dictatorship. The negative affect on these millions of people would result in many personal financial struggles to the point of unemployment. As an American citizen, I'm grateful to have the opportunity to have rights to unemployment benefits, but how many upper class Americans want to contribute more taxes to support a potentially growing number of unemployed Americans ON TOP of paying more for internet services? The handful of board members that run the internet-associated companies, that's who. This issue is controversial because it helps so few people yet has such popularity and that doesn't add up. For the greater good of the people, please do everything in your power to end the reversal of net neutrality. The nature of a small business is that it's going to struggle, and most likely fail. There is no need for government to micro manage business even more and give small businesses yet another hurdle to overcome and probably fail at. By giving large businesses even more power, you encourage competition to be eliminated. Competition is one of the major ideas of “making the country great.” Competition gives people hope and opportunity to work hard and contribute to society. More importantly, competition gives people JOBS. Jobs keep people off welfare and the streets. Jobs save the federal government more money. More jobs means spending our money on building greater things rather than picking up the pieces of citizens who have been pushed out and beaten down by our very own laws. Ending net neutrality is a bad decision for our country. It's a good decision for a select few people, but we live in a democracy and something smells fishy about laws that don't reflect that. I urge you to stop the FCC's plan to end net neutrality *before* the FCC's December 14th vote. I don't want ISPs to have the power to block websites, slow them down, give some sites an advantage over others, split the Internet into "fast lanes" for companies that pay and "slow lanes" for the rest, or force me to buy special "tiers" to access the sites and services I choose.
