Repealing Net Neutrality will only harm the American people by allowing ISPs to censor the internet however they please. Even if ISPs say they won't censor, throttle, or sell the website bundles that we are all afraid of, there is no real guarantee that they won't. So why give them the option? Why is the FCC even considering this in the first place? Taking away consumer protections is not the job of a commission tasked with protecting consumers. It infuriates me that FCC commissioners can lie to the people about how the internet works, and then tell them the best way for the internet to be managed is by the very people who will most profit by managing it themselves. There are already way too few internet options out there. I myself live in an area with only one choice of service and there's nothing I can do but pay what they tell me. I get fliers in the mail that tout offers that don't exist when I call in, and speed tiers are different every time you call to change your service. There's no consistency. Not to mention the fact that tax payers gave millions in subsidies so ISPs could build great fiber networks but then they never did and the government doesn't seem to remember or care. I feel like I live in some crazy comic book world where super villains are doing everything they can to ruin the lives of everyone else and destroy the planet. Be the good guys, FCC, keep the net neutral.
