I STRONGLY DISAGREE with repealing the Net Neutrality regulations. Chairman Pai claims his plan is to have the federal government “stop micromanaging the internet”; however, repealing Net Neutrality regulations simply prevents the federal government from allowing ISP's to CONTROL the internet. Comcast CEO Dave Watson said, “Comcast does not and will not block, throttle, or discriminate against lawful content,” according to the Fierce Cable report. I also wanted to include this statement in my comment as well. Comcast claims that it does not and will "gatewatch" its providers. Yet, in 2007 Comcast slowed down BitTorrent transfers, a file-sharing client customers were using to download files, music, and movies. The FCC at the time found this practice to be UNLAWFUL and sent the broadband provider a cease-and-desist letter, but the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit rejected the FCC’s action. It’s why the FCC ended up classifying these providers as “common carriers,” so it had the authority to act against corporations participating in unfair internet practices. Comcast claims they willnot block, throttle, etc providers and yet they are guilty of doing just that in the past. “At Verizon, we continue to strongly support net neutrality and the open internet” Grillo told Digital Trends. ISP's openly comment in support of Net Neutrality and yet they support the repeal of the 2015 Net Neutrality regulations, the only thing that enforces that they maintain Net Neutrality and transparency.
