I just wanted to voice a complaint that these rules are neither restoring internet freedom, nor adding to the freedom already provided by the internet. I think you should reconsider these rules in their entirety. Allowing internet service providers to have paid-for fast lanes will only hurt businesses that depend on equal treatment of their data. This should be a no-brainer, but since Ajit Pai (and his cohorts on the FCC board) are clearly lacking in that department, let me make it clear. If you do this, you will not help anyone. You will only encourage internet users to circumvent major ISPs for neutral internet access (eg. microwave meshnets). All you will do is cost ISP's billions and hurt consumers who depend on these services to communicate about issues that matter to them. Please. Listen to the millions of comments on this issue and remember who you work for. The people. Government is ENTIRELY meant to exist only to serve the people, not to serve the businesses. I hope you take these words to heart, as they come from a 20-year experienced web developer and veteran of the US Army. Thank you. ES.
