Many of the networks that carry telephone calls regulated under Title II work on the same networks, the same cables, even the same modems and routers as internet communication. Title II should apply to the entire communications network, and treat all internet traffic the same as any telephone call. The federal government relies on internet communication, for example this very comment, to communicate and disseminate the services it provides (Social Security, healthcare.gov, FEMA), to collect taxes, and even - god help me - to tweet propaganda from the highest offices. The FCC is willfully abdicating its responsibility to protect the citizens of this country from the bad behavior of worst rated corporations on the planet. Renouncing protection of Title II from internet communication for the reason of poor investment is deceitful, greedy, and at best delusional behavior. Title II protection should remain in place to preserve the internet as we now know it.
