I am right to ask that the FCC keep broadband internet classified as a common carrier. Without this, we stand to lose not only the level playing field that is vital to one of the fastest growing sectors in the US economy, the information sector, but we also face the possibility that our first amendment freedom of speech could be throttled down to a snail's pace. The information sector thrives on innovation. Innovations is driven by new members in a sector creating new way to do things, pressuring the existing entities in that market to innovate to stay alive. We can not afford to slow American innovation so that we can line the pockets of a middleman company in the internet service providers who already have an effective monopoly on the ISP market place. (If I have one choice in ISP that is a monopoly, and the industry should be treated as a utility or push into a competitive state) We also cannot hand over who have access to what information and at what speed to a private entity. What happens if Fox News comes out with information that makes and ISP company look bad, then they throttle down that website and extort more money out of them to get into a “fast lane.” Moreover this comment is a public comment with my address, the IPS can throttle down my internet and demand money for a fast lane because of this very plea for net neutrality then I would not be able to contact you, my government entity, with my opinion into the future. If that isn’t an attack on my first amendment freedom of speech then tell me what is. Please do not put the American people and future innovating companies under the thumb of the ISPs. Keep out net neutral!
