I strongly oppose of the Congressional attempt to restrict access to the Internet. The public requires Internet access without restriction and barriers to access health information. Internet access to images that support telemedicine is necessary to assure accessible, affordable and quality healthcare. Health sciences libraries require an open internet to provide unencumbered access to the NLM for all the databases that support healthcare, education and research. The internet assures transparency during a time when health care is rapidly changing. The current administration is intentionally creating barriers for the citizen for the sake of big business. Our representatives are elected by the people, not big business. Net neutrality matters and the efforts to oppose it is just one more example of the lack of meaningful leadership in the current administration.
