I would like to highlight the danger to our economy of removing net-neutrality rules. For the last two decades business have used the internet to operate more efficiently by creating business-to-business computer connections that allow just-in-time ordering, delivery, and payment. Our economy is now entirely dependent on this internet-enabled integration. Most businesses have a choice of only one or two internet providers, giving their ISP tremendous power over those businesses. Without strict net-neutrality rules, ISPs could blackmail any business they choose with no repercussions. Even if a business has a choice of ISPs, it is very disruptive to business to change and internet connection, and it can take a month for a new installation. Local governments regulate the installation of wires and fiber, and the FCC regulate airwaves. Therefore the government is already setting the rules and choosing which ISPs have these monopoly powers. That makes it our government's responsibility to set rules. ISPs have already demonstrated that without net-neutrality rules, they will treat their customers differently, often to the detriment of some. Please do not put the United States economy at this terrible risk by removing net-neutrality rules. Sincerely, John McNeil
