Net neutrality is a necessary safeguard against runaway market forces that threaten to undermine (and eventually extinguish) the inherently open, decentralized, and transformative nature of the internet as we know it. The consequences of the FCC's proposed changes would extend far beyond price hikes and inconvenience for consumers—they would allow humankind's greatest achievement to date and best hope for the future to be coopted in the name of the status quo. I consider this unacceptable. I oppose this measure.
