I am writing to support maintaining Net Neutrality. Free, non-tiered access to the Internet is one of the few ways to bridge the divide in this country. It allows access to information, for those across many backgrounds to learn, for communities to form and support each other. Destroying Net Neutrality would threaten freedom in our country in that it would take away equal access to information, opinions, community. It would allow corporations and the richest individuals to promote their agendas above all others and deepen the divide between the haves and the have-nots. Net Neutrality is critical to the development and growth of technological innovation. Destroying Net Neutrality would silence the voices of the American people. Access to the Internet needs to be protected in order for this country to compete in the current global market. As an employee of one of the largest media and Telecommunications companies in the world, I am strongly opposed to allowing these changes and giving them and their advertisers more control over how the internet is accessed. As an engineer, I know that destroying Net Neutrality is not necessary in order for my employer to make exorbitant profits and provide quality service.
