12 December 2018 The Honorable Ajit Pai, Chairman The Honorable Michael O’Rielly, Commissioner The Honorable Brendan Carr, Commissioner The Honorable Jessica Rosenworcel, Commissioner Chairman Federal Communications Commission 455 12th Street Southwest Washington, DC 20544 Dear Chairman Pai, I'm writing to support the Comments of the Cable Act Preservation Alliance (“CAPA”) and to disapprove of the proposals and tentative conclusions set forth in the FCC’s September 25 Further Notice of Proposed Rule Making in Implementation of Section 621(a)(1) of the Cable Communications Policy Act of 1984 as Amended by the Cable Television Consumer Protection and Competition Act of 1992, MB Docket 05- 311. I think it is critical to support community media because the means of support for local communities is diminishing at a time when we face hard times and need to build all the community support we can. My use of local access television is the creation of a weekly commentary on the gradual improvements we see in the human race and the manifestations which should encourage us all to work together and stick together. The object is to build appreciation and a faith in a better future at a time we are surrounded by chaos and doubt. I hope you will see fit to continue support of all our community media, which fills a need the broader media can not. It is especially important in Vermont where population centers are relatively few and far between. (signed) Larry Sherk, Springfield, VT
